Rob Catchlove is the Director of Wave Consulting. He is an environmental scientist with 18 years’ experience in the water sector who has a unique skill set that includes science, engineering, social science and community engagement. Rob has managed large complex projects for several years, often at the cutting edge of liveability and future cities.
Rob has managed some leading industry projects such as the Dobson’s Creek Disconnection Project (a $5-million-dollar project involving extensive engagement with council and residents), and Rockbank North, a greenfield integrated water project that aimed to deliver the best mix of recycled water, potable water and rainwater harvesting for the greatest amenity benefit. Rob is now leading the Halpin St Microgrid project.
Rob provides advice to both precinct and small-scale developments in need of assistance with photovoltaics and batteries.
Rob was previously employed at Alluvium Consulting Australia (6 years), Melbourne Water (6 years) and the Bureau of Meteorology (6 years). His other experience includes guest lecturing at Melbourne University, judging the Banksia Foundation’s Sustainability Awards and he was selected to be on the Expert Panel for the ACT Government’s WSUD Review. Additionally he has been the president and a board member for a number of community groups.
When Rob isn’t working he is hanging out with his kids at the park, school, campground and backyard. At home he is working towards a zero net emissions house through zero gas use, energy efficiency and use of a 6 kW solar and 6 kWh battery system, as well as a state of the art water system and a creative and edible landscape.
