Rob Catchlove

Rob Catchlove is the Director of Wave Consulting. He is an environmental scientist with over 15 years’ experience in the water sector who has a unique skill set that includes science, engineering, social science and community engagement. Rob has been managing large complex projects for several years, often at the cutting edge of liveability and future cities.

Rob has managed some leading industry projects such as the Dobson’s Creek Disconnection Project (a $5-million-dollar project that involved extensive engagement with council and residents), and Rockbank North, a greenfield integrated water project that aimed to deliver the best mix of recycled water, potable water and rainwater harvesting for the best amenity benefit. Rob is now leading the Halpin St Microgrid project. This has led to Wave’s engagement with all major electricity retailers and network providers, as well as a search for new electricity services and cost structures.  Rob provides advice to both precinct and small-scale developments that are in need of assistance with photovoltaics and batteries.

Rob was previously at Alluvium Consulting Australia (6 years), Melbourne Water (6 years) and the Bureau of Meteorology (6 years). He has guest lectured at Melbourne University, is a judge for the Banksia Foundation’s sustainability awards and was selected to be on the Expert Panel for the ACT Government’s WSUD Review. He has also been president and board member of various community groups.

When Rob isn’t at work he is hanging out with his kids at the park, school, campground and backyard. At home he is working towards a zero net emissions house (through zero gas use, energy efficiency and use of a 6 kW solar and 6 kWh battery system), as well as a state of the art water system and creative and edible landscape.

As a small business we know that partnerships are important. We partner with other individual consultants, medium to large engineering firms, architects and landscape architects, economists, ecologists, and universities. We manage interdisciplinary teams and deliver complex projects. We welcome partnerships and are attracted to experts in other fields that are also working towards similar goals and hold similar values.
